At Le Petit Escabeau, our volunteers play a vital role in helping refugee and newly arrived children succeed in school and in life. Through tutoring, mentoring, and simply being present, they offer encouragement, stability, and guidance to young learners navigating a new environment and education system.

We are now looking for new volunteers to join our team—individuals who are ready to step in as mentors and informal educators for children and teenagers who need both academic support and personal encouragement.

1) What We Do

Le Petit Escabeau provides educational support to refugee and newly arrived children in Geneva.
Our mission is to:

*Support school integration
*Offer homework assistance and tutoring
*Provide mentorship and emotional encouragement
*Create a safe, trusting environment for learning and growth
*Our volunteers are the heart of this mission, and their consistent presence makes all the difference.


2) What We’re Looking For

To ensure meaningful support, we ask that volunteers:

Commit to volunteering once a week during the school year
Have a good level of French, to communicate effectively with children and support schoolwork
Are patient, reliable, and empathetic

Are ready to accompany children with both academic and personal encouragement

⚠️ No formal teaching qualification is required—only your time, consistency, and commitment.

3 ) How You Can Help

✔ Offer homework support in key subjects (French, math, etc.)
✔ Mentor and guide children through the Swiss school system
✔ Build trust and provide emotional encouragement
✔ Support learning in a welcoming and inclusive setting

Au Petit Escabeau, les bénévoles jouent un rôle essentiel dans l’accompagnement des enfants réfugiés et nouvellement arrivés à Genève.
Grâce au soutien scolaire, au mentorat et à une présence régulière, ils offrent stabilité, motivation et repères dans un nouveau système scolaire.
Nous recherchons aujourd’hui de nouveaux bénévoles prêts à s’investir en tant que mentors et accompagnants éducatifs pour des enfants et adolescents ayant besoin de soutien scolaire et de confiance.


Notre mission
Le Petit Escabeau propose un appui éducatif et humain aux jeunes en situation de migration. Nos objectifs :
Favoriser l’intégration scolaire
Apporter une aide aux devoirs et un accompagnement pédagogique
Offrir un cadre de confiance et de motivation
Créer un espace d’écoute, d’apprentissage et de développement
Les bénévoles sont au cœur de cette mission, et leur engagement hebdomadaire change réellement des vies.


Profil recherché

Nous demandons aux bénévoles de :
S’engager une fois par semaine de manière régulière
Avoir un bon niveau de français pour accompagner les enfants dans leurs devoirs
Être patients, fiables et bienveillants
Être motivés à offrir écoute, soutien et encouragement

⚠️ Aucun diplôme en enseignement n’est requis – seule compte votre régularité et votre envie d’accompagner.

Comment contribuer
