Overview
Strengthening Our Donation Drive with the Social Wardrobe (Vestiaire social)
We are pleased to announce that our clothing donation initiative is entering a new phase through a collaboration with the Social Wardrobe (Vestiaire social) in Carouge. This partnership allows us to better organize our clothing collections and ensure that donations reach individuals and families in need across Geneva in a more structured and impactful way.
The Social Wardrobe provides free, quality second-hand clothing and shoes to people referred by social services. Beyond meeting a basic need, access to proper clothing helps restore dignity, strengthen self-confidence, and support individuals facing financial hardship.
Through this collaboration, we can coordinate donations more efficiently while continuing to encourage community participation. Supporters can contribute by donating clean clothing and shoes in good condition for men, women, and children, or by volunteering during collection and distribution activities.
This new partnership strengthens our ability to ensure that essential items reach those who need them most.
The Bridge of Support Initiative
Alongside this new collaboration, Volunteer Hub continues to run the Bridge of Support Initiative, a community project that connects donors, volunteers, and partner organizations to deliver essential resources to individuals and families in need.
Over the past two years, our volunteers successfully operated a clothing donation center, thanks to the leadership of Vera and the dedication of our refugee volunteer team. Together, they have organized donation fairs and coordinated the distribution of many donated items, helping us build a strong network of solidarity across the community.
Our mission remains simple: to serve as a bridge between donors and people who need support.
